When you travel to Seoul, the major transportation is Metro and Buses. You can be very confused the complex bus routines and colours.
There is a T-Money Mpass that you can save money and very useful in Seoul! BUT YOU CAN ONLY BUY THIS TICKET INCHEON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT in front of Exit 5 and 10 on the 1st floor and also you can get some discounts N Seoul Tower and several spots. It costs depend on the how many days you are going to stay.

There is also Seoul Citypass that you can use Seoul City Tour Bus, Seoul Metro, Incheon Metro and Seoul Buses except for subway line 9 and airport railroad. This pass is sold in Korea smart card main office(10th floor seoul city tour building, Namdaemunno 5-ga, Jung-gu) or Tourist Information Centers(Gwanghwamum, Itaewon, Gimpo Airport, Samilgyo, Namdaemum, Jamsil)

Or you can just buy one way ticket when you get on metro
you can buy tickets through the ticket machine that provided in English, Japanese and Chinese and you need to pay deposit for 500 won when you buy a ticket. But after you reach the destination, you can get back 500 won from deposit machine in the station.
