Pension is one of the most popular types of accommodations in Korea at the moment. This place is like a B&B, but only some of this places serve breakfast I`m afraid. But if you stay in pensions, you can use the BBQ garden and facilities. So most Koreans who stay in pension, they tend to buy BBQ meats, vegetables, drinks from stores like Homeplus or Emart. The rooms are fully furnished with a kitchen - rice cooker, cutlery, microwave, gas etc and bed and bathroom. Most pensions even have a pool that you can use during the summer time!
There are numerous pensions in Gyeongju. I found some pensions where they can speak English! Hope this can be very helpful when you make a decision.
